I continue to be shocked by an article I noticed on the internet yesterday. A couple in California is giving their child hormone blockers at the age of 11. There is not a medical need, no known genetic defects, and a history of psychological problems. Their reason is he needs more time to decide whether to be a boy or a girl. What a horrific situation.

My opinions have nothing to do with the lesbian nature of the couple, they have everything to do with the child. We claim to protect defenseless children in this country but allow medical and human arrogance to put a child at severe risk. Hormone treatments are risky, especially in a child. They have no idea what the long term impact will be. With so many medical advances we have seen a dramatic increase in life expectancy. This is a sickening example of medicine being used in a very wrong way.
